Latest work on resin

I thought I would have a go a using resin to create jewellery and like. This stuff is really nice to work with. Loving the results.

Things I’ve learnt so far is to be patient and wait until the items are completely set and not tacky. As fingerprints will show.

Make sure you work in a well ventilated area, wear gloves and a mask to protect against the smell.

I found that using the flowers straight from the plant has a reaction with the resin. The colours of purple flowers seem to react and change to turquoise.

The oils also drop out of the flower and becomes cloudy. I’ve found a way of drying the flowers out by putting them between two pieces of card, flattening and placing a square glass bowl on top to weigh down. I then microwaved on medium heat for 1 min 30 seconds and this worked  a treat.
